How Your Repair Actually Goes
Seven stages, in this order, every time. The order is not a preference. Calibrating before an alignment or refinishing before the structure is right produces a car that looks finished and is not.
Before anything else
The first estimate is a starting number
Any estimate written before the car is apart covers what somebody could see. Behind a bumper cover there is an absorber, a reinforcement bar, brackets, wiring, a radar module, and sometimes a rail tip that folded exactly the way it was designed to.
So the number moves after teardown. That is not a shop padding a bill. It is the difference between a guess and an inspection, and every supplement we send carries photographs and part numbers with it.
Inside the repair
Seven stages. One standard.
-
01
Assessment
We photograph the vehicle, pull the VIN build data, and write a first estimate covering the visible damage. We say out loud that it is the visible damage only, because nobody can see behind a bumper cover from a parking lot.
-
02
Digital measurement
The car goes on the bench. Every module gets scanned for stored faults, then the structure is measured electronically and compared point by point to the manufacturer's dimensions. What comes out is a report, not an opinion.
-
03
Structural repair
We pull to the measurement, not to the eye. Where the manufacturer says a section gets replaced instead of straightened, it gets replaced, at the seam they specify, with the weld or adhesive they specify. Corrosion protection goes back at every seam we opened.
-
04
Refinishing
Colour is mixed to the code, sprayed on a test card, and checked against your panel in real light before anything else happens. Sealed, based, cleared, cured, then polished. Blends are mapped so the repair disappears into the panel next to it.
-
05
Calibration
Forward cameras, radar, blind spot modules and parking sensors get aimed and verified using the factory procedure for that specific vehicle. Static, dynamic, or both, in whatever order the manufacturer requires, always after alignment.
-
06
Quality control
Post repair scan to confirm every module is clean. Alignment set and road tested. Panel gaps, closures and finish checked in daylight by a technician who did not do the work, because the person who did it has stopped seeing it.
-
07
Concierge delivery
The vehicle is detailed, the file is closed with your insurer, and your advisor walks the car with you in daylight. You leave with the scan reports, the calibration documentation, and a repair record worth keeping.
What decides the timeline
Why nobody can give you a real date on day one
Two things set the schedule: what teardown finds, and how fast parts arrive. Anyone quoting you a completion date before the car is apart is guessing, and you will hear that date move.
What you get told, and when
A text when teardown is done and we know the real scope. A text when parts land. A text when the vehicle goes into the booth. A call when it is ready. If your adjuster needs something, we call them, not you.
