What we have built into this site, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.
This page is a working draft written to describe how this site actually behaves. It is not legal advice and it should be reviewed by a qualified attorney before the site goes live.
What we aim for
This site was built with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines in mind. We are not claiming certified conformance, because that is a formal audit process and we have not been through one. What we can tell you is what was actually built in.
What is in the build
- Semantic HTML with one H1 per page and a logical heading order.
- Keyboard access to every interactive control, with a visible focus indicator.
- A skip link to the main content.
- Text and background colours checked against contrast requirements.
- Alternative text on meaningful images, and decorative graphics hidden from screen readers.
- Form fields with real labels rather than placeholder text doing the work.
- Animation and scroll effects that switch off when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Layouts that reflow without horizontal scrolling and hold up under text scaling.
- Touch targets sized for thumbs on mobile.
Known limits
Some scroll driven graphics on this site are decorative. Where that is the case, the information they illustrate is also present in the surrounding text, so nothing is only available inside an animation.
